I know, I know, first; what is a neo-Hippie? With my readings through time, I have not come upon a complete and legitimate
definition for a neo-Hippie, however, through the collective thoughts that I have stumbled upon, one would say a neo Hippie

Neo-Hippies call themselves hippies or modern hippies. They are kind hearted like the hippies of years past. They are called neo-hippies because their views are different in a few ways from the first hippies. They are against stereotypes and are their own people. They are usually not the ones to adhere to norms or a group think philosophy
hippies were. they have some common goals like peace and freedom. they are called neo for adding new beliefs like mindfulness and vegetarianism. Not all believe in all aspects of these ideologies but some do. They definitely believe in dressing their own way away from the norm. They are okay with gays, bi’s, lesbians, transsexual, and non-sexauls but that doesn’t make them one. Neo-hippie’s and hippies are so deep and vary between people you can’t really define them completely. Oh and FYI if you thought it, NOT ALL do drugs and don’t take showers.

Sunset with rain
July 31st, 2015 by Sugar Love Designs

rain drops“Rain”

As I sit looking at the rain fall through the sky filled with yellows and oranges of the sunset, feeling a cool moist breeze blow across my face. Smelling the odor of the raw earth,  the droplets  of rain, fall faster and faster until it becomes a steady downpour.  I drift back to when I was  a young girl and heavy downpours, flashes of lightening, and thunder frightened me. I would want to cuddle for protection. However, as the years went by, my love affair with rain began and then there was the inclusion of affection.

rain leavesSo what is a soulful rain shower; my quirky saying. Well it’s one of those days where it’s just too wet to go anywhere and all you want to do is stay home, listen to the water droplets fall, hearing the drops tapping on different objects like  an electronic drum or add some soulful music and let your imagination go.  Reminiscing on memories pleasing to your soul, sending you into a state of deep relaxation.

It is also thought to be romantic. For example, the moment when nothing else matters, getting lost in someones eyes. Feeling overwhelmed with emotion as they lean closer to plant a kiss on your now wet face. Many have professed this through music. I often incorporate music in everything and there have been some amazing songs created with rain as the leading lady. I am pretty sure that I have not included everybody’s favorite. Check out my list. Each song elicit different memories; different places in time throughout my life. Even the most controversial on the list that sent the entire world in an uproar when it was realized that they were not really singing. Here are my top pics in no specific order. What are yours?

Why is rain so soothing? Some believe that it is related to the sounds we heard in the womb. What are your thoughts? Do you think showers in different locations alter your mood in different ways? Take a moment to check out the  sights and sounds of rain on the  Rainy Mood website.
